Harpreet Singh is an accomplished journalist having worked with some of the top print and electronic media outlets in India and Canada for the past 26 years. Having worked as a television anchor, radio host, political commentator, writer, producer and entrepreneur, he has the innate ability to identify issues and discuss possible solutions. Perhaps best known for hosting the Harpreet Singh Show, only daily national South Asian talk show in Canada on the JoyTV network, he has been appearing on national television screens every day for ten years and counting.
With his education in Political Science and Journalism, he set out on a path of integrity and ethics to uncover the truth about issues that affect real people every single day. His investigative reporting skill is widely acclaimed across the country, making him relatable and accessible to residents across the Surrey-Newton riding.
Harpreet can relate to the average Canadian with concerns about affordability and became a member of the Conservative Party of Canada because the values and core beliefs of the party match his own values and principles. Core philosophies such as family values, employment, sustainable change, economic responsibility, equality for all is the centre of Harpreet’s own values which is why he is a valued member of the Surrey-Newton community.
Hailing from Punjab, India, he immigrated to Canada in 2002 and made Surrey-Newton his home. Harpreet and his wife have two sons, one of whom is enrolled in Medicine at University of British Columbia, and the other enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and Science at University of Toronto. Both have inherited the hard work ethic of their parents and have received a full ride scholarship, have founded a non-profit organization that is focused on connecting youth across the globe, and been recognized with tens of awards including top 25 under 25.
